What User doesn't like about Mikado Japanese:
It used to be my favorite sushi place but things have changed. I used to get food there once a week but not coming back there anymore. I called in for order like I normally would and ordered the same rolls I always order but I was charged way more than I used to. I mean I understand that food prices had gone up but not that much. I was charged $5 more for the same roll I always ordered. On top of it they didn't put c... View all feedback.
I used to really enjoy visiting this restaurant for many years. However, their prices have increased significantly, and they add extra charges for even the smallest requests without informing you beforehand. I find that misleading; it would be better if they clearly communicated any additional costs. The food quality has also declined to just okay. I'm truly disappointed by the changes, and I don't plan on returning.
I absolutely love this place! The owner is a very nice woman who is extremely welcoming—something you’d hope for in all restaurant owners, but sadly it's not common in South Florida. The sushi chef was also very pleasant. They kept me informed about my order and sliced the fish exactly as I requested. They took the time to explain the ginger and wasabi to me, which made for a wonderful experience. The owner even shared the best way to enjoy the sake I purchased. I’ve definitely found my new favorite sushi spot! As you can see, I couldn't help but start eating before taking a picture, haha!
I decided to try this restaurant after one of the staff members mentioned that they serve the best sushi. Since I'm not a regular sushi eater, I can't claim to be an expert. I visited on a Friday evening with a friend, and after waiting about 10 minutes, I had to ask for a menu. Our server was friendly but a bit inattentive, even though the restaurant wasn't busy at that time. I ordered miso soup and a dynamite roll. The soup was good, although I don’t have much to compare it to. The roll was decent but not exceptional; I found the wrapping to be a bit tough and chewy. The atmosphere is cozy, and the location in the Northridge shopping center is convenient, with plenty of shops nearby for browsing before or after your meal. The prices seemed reasonable as well. This place has been around for many years, and I wouldn’t mind giving it another try in the future. However, my first experience was just average.

That's horrible business! So disappointed
The website is has prices significantly lower than what you will actually pay. Beware of this! 2x $14.95 rolls and 1x $10.95 roll on their website $41 before tax) it came to $63 w/ tax) after their “new prices due to inflation and covid” . a $20 increase over your advertised price is insane. Make sure you understand the prices before you order from here.
