I've been dining at this restaurant since the 1980s, back when my mom had her store, "Karen Don Designer's," just around the corner! During my recent visit with family, I was delighted to find that the place has remained unchanged over the years. The service is still excellent, and the food is fantastic—it's a timeless gem! I was especially pleased to see my daughter sitting in the same spot I occupied at her age! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Fat Freddy's Sub Shop:
I recently ordered a turkey club sandwich, and I wasn't very impressed. The turkey was served warm, which I didn't expect, and it made the lettuce quite soggy. The tomatoes were cut thicker than I anticipated, which was another surprise. I'm also not sure if they really used turkey because it looked and tasted more like ham. The roll was the best part of the meal, but overall, I don't think I'll be returning. View all feedback.
Have enjoyed this small family owned sup shop for over 20 plus years.
The portions have got smaller and more expensive $13.00 for a small steak sub is ridiculous ! with no less meat and cheese on it . You use to go there at lunch time and the place was packed, Now there's only 2 or 3 people in the place at lunch time. The new owner are running the business into the ground.
I was not aware that this used to be awesome sub shop has changed ownership. We have eaten there for about 30 years or so. We moved from the area about 10 years ago and come back frequently but this last trip was very disappointing. The staff do not have much personality and the food was not good at all. We will never be back.
Best sub i have had, though i am from lake worth beach, i will be coming back soon. Worth the drive!
I gave them 1 more chance. Disappointed again. Sorry Fat Freddy's Sub Shop in Oakland Park. You've lost your oldest customer. Dining there since 1976. Less than 1/2 the meat the sandwiches used to have.
