Hambleton Hall - Oakham
Hambleton Hall
Description
Hambleton Hall is a five-star restaurant offering exquisite and flawless food in a truly glorious environment. While the service can be a bit patchy at times, the overall experience is one to remember. The restaurant is a bit on the pricey side, with some menu items such as the cheese board being quite expensive. However, the quality of the food, especially dishes like the scallop bowl and grouse, makes it worth the cost. The staff go above and beyond to make special occasions memorable, as seen during a birthday celebration. The setting of the restaurant, situated in a beautiful old country estate, adds to the overall charm of the experience. Despite some minor hiccups, Hambleton Hall is definitely a restaurant worth visiting for a dining experience to remember.

Feedback
The food at this restaurant is exceptional and the atmosphere is truly magnificent, but the service can be inconsistent. It was disappointing to witness a nervous trainee being observed by their instructor while serving us. Although I would consider returning, the service could be more friendly and efficient, especially considering the high prices and mandatory 12.5% service charge.
The food was excellent and the service was perfect. This restaurant is a rare treat for celebrating a birthday or anniversary.
Overall, this restaurant is top-notch with a five-star rating, but it had a slight hiccup during last Sunday's lunch. The starters and desserts were exceptional as usual, but the Sirloin beef main course did not meet its usual high standards.
Very expensive for the food we had. The cheese board is effective £20. No lunch on Sat, that was disappointing, but we were made aware of it. We were also handed over a menu that was not one of the selections on and we were told about the change. Why not print the menu? This was a special occasion and I expected more for the paid price. The scallop bowl and grouse were excellent, but the rest was on average disappointing. Somewhere like Chez Bruce is much better in every way. The first problems in the world.
The food was excellent and the setting is a delightful old country estate. The crowd were of an age and manner while the servers at times lacked affability, but on the whole the service and atmosphere were lovely. The food was divine, local, British, and of a quality suitable for ignoring less educated neighbours.
