A lucky find, walking into Nyon. This food is stunning; authentic Bangladeshi spices and cooking techniques but with a very modern twist. This was a take away until two weeks ago, but the owner/chef responded to Swiss taste to eat-in. This is a wonderful little restaurant.
I have visited this Takeaway to eat in many times since its opening, but (almost inevitably? their original success has led to standards dropping and for me now I will no longer go there. The waitress was unwelcoming (with not even the politesse to get up and say bonsoir , and we were the only clients! , dour with us and other clients that arrived and inefficient (we had to get up and ask 3 times for the bill whilst she was too preoccupied discussing money with the owner in the kitchen . The owner, Sharin, used to be present and committed to her business the last times I have been there I have only seen the owners pop in at the end of the evening to cash up. This lack of management commitment is mirrored in the kitchen with a noticeable decline in quality. The oil/ ghee used for both the naan bread and the caramelised onions tasted rancid (we left both . The chicken was grey and overcooked. The spices (which used to be carefully selected and employed are now bland and disappointing. As another reviewer mentioned, some dishes seem almost not differentiable. My experience on my previous visit was also mediocre, but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt for another try, however this dinner experience has confirmed the unfortunate decline. I understand its popularity as a takeaway at reasonable prices , but there are now much better options in Nyon such that I would avoid Falaque until they recommit.
Delicious, healthy and homemade. Doesn’t get better than a Falaque. Samosas are amazing, and all the main dishes never fail to delight as all are freshly prepared and you can taste the love gone into making each one. Love the small menu choice as keeps things easy when ordering! Would highly recommend.
Whenever im passing Nyon i make sure that i pop in for a Chicken bhuna and some samosas. I have been known to schedule appointments for certain days down to this fact. The staff and the owner Sharyn) are lovely and i hope one day they will open in Geneva!
Falaque did the catering of our public event organized by the Swiss Confederation in Geneva and we are entirely satisfied. I definitely recommend Falaque as a catering as well. The food was exquisitely delicious, our guests were more than delighted. The service was very professional and helpful. The decoration was refined and sober as we wanted. Everything went very well from the beginning to the end with a sense of quick adaptation and flexibility. Finally, apart the food, we specially appreciated their thorough preparations and anticipation, as well as the availability, sympathy and charisma of Sharin. Thank you.
