During a recent trip to New York with my three children, we had a delightful brunch at Johnny Cakes in Nyack. The signature dish—corn pancakes with yogurt and granola—was both unique and delicious, and the portion sizes were impressive. We also tried the Southwestern Omelette and the Egg Florentine, both of which were excellent, fresh, and generously sized. The chocolate chip pancakes were quickly devoured by the kids, earning happy thumbs up all around. The ambiance was lovely, too. The service was friendly, professional, and attentive, and we will definitely be returning!

I decided to try a short s... read more A Johnnycake is a cornmeal cake with a coarser texture and a distinct corn flavor, quite different from a typical buttermilk pancake. I decided to try a short stack along with a side of corned beef hash and an egg. I enjoyed my meal with a bit of syrup, and the portion was just right for me. The corned beef hash was also quite tasty. On this early Sunday morning, the city was buzzing with activity as preparations were underway for Springfest, an outdoor event happening along Main Street this weekend. I truly enjoyed my visit to Nyack and Johnny Cakes Café, and I highly recommend both.
