The Deck - Nutley
The Deck
Description
Cowan’s Public blends nostalgic 1920s charm and festive holiday decor with cozy, intimate seating and a lively bar. The menu leans toward inventive comfort—braised pork, skirt-steak and fried chicken sandwiches, creative small plates, and standout brunch dishes—paired with bold cocktails. Service is warm and personal, regulars praise the staff, but expect tight tables, occasional menu gaps and slow brunch turnaround. Reservations are advised; ideal for date nights, neighborhood outings and flavorful weekend brunches.

Chef Frank delivers a new concept that melts faces in a good way. This should be the spot for anyone in and around Nutley. The braised pork sandwich competes some of the best Tortas I've ever had. The corndog was also absolutely fantastic combining nostalgia and with artistry. The true highlight was actually the Grilled Marinated Carrots though with fresh pesto and labneh.
