Was Steve Goodman at Bill's a mag?
I shared a soup and sandwich special with someone, and it was fantastic. Both the soup and the sandwich were delightful. I highly recommend this place for its wonderful atmosphere. It's a great choice if you're looking to impress someone with the service. View all feedback.
What Kristi Dagostino dislikes about Bill's:
Additionally, both times we were seated at a table with a tablecloth that had clearly seen better days. I had to clear away a large pile of crumbs and some greasy residue from the booth before we could sit down. Ideally, the staff should be trained to ensure that tables are thoroughly wiped down before new diners are seated. We still appreciate this restaurant and will likely return, though probably not as frequently... View all feedback.

Great beer Grand Rapids lager) and fries with garlic aioli dip. Amazing service!
Tried to make a dinner reservation, but the host said they only take lunch and brunch reservations. Seems odd… so we made a reservation across the street at Joe Muer.
A bit dark inside, and cool ..we should have sat on their patio. The interior was well decorated. Food is good, with a nice mix of seafood, meat and veg selections. The salmon was delicious.
Up until December of 2023, we would always give Bill 's perfect ratings across the board, but everything changed for us on my husband 's birthday on December 15. If you are wondering why it took so long for me to write about this, it 's because I had PTSD for several months, including trouble sleeping and anxity attacks. If you consider me to be overly dramatic, please read entire story before you decide. For the previous 5-6 years We had been coming to Bill 's at least twice per week. We had reserved our usual table for a very early dinner several weeks prior to my husband 's birthday. When we arrived, our table was occupied. When my husband asked about our reservations, the hostess told us someone else had reservations. We found this unusual, especially because we double check our reservations every week. So after being seated at a different table, we assumed the management decided to give our table away. But as time passed, staff members whom we were familiar with, came up and apologized, stating that the party sitting at our table, had just got up from their original table and commandeered ours without asking. Unfortunately, no one on their management staff thought to intervene. This greatly disappointed us, but we were willing to let it go. However, the universe had other plans for us!After ordering and enjoying our drinks, the very rude and entitled woman who had stole our table proceeded to get up and start yelling and pounding on our table. She said she had very good hearing and could hear us complaining. She told us she personally knew Bill (owner) and could buy our table if she wanted to. During this very public display no management intervened on our behalf. Our food arrived soon after, and I was shaking while I ate. We quickly asked for a to go box and ordered our coffee and my husband 's dessert to go. I had to leave the restaurant before they brought everything to the table because I was ready to start crying and didn 't want to give the horrid woman the satisfaction. Although non management staff showed their concern, I was shocked that at no time did management try to make amends to us. No free coffee or dessert, no discount, no consequences to the rude folks who continue to come back almost daily to continue their reign of terror. We have only come back maybe once per month since this incident because we still like to see our favorite staff. Jane, the bartender, nicely and graciously paid for our meal the next time we came in because that 's just the wonderful kind of person she is. But I didn 't want her to have to be the one to make up to us. She wasn 't even there the day it happened. So, in summary, I am deeply disappointed and disgusted by the management and ownership of Bill 's. Once Jane eventually retires, we will be unlikely to return. Thank you for your patience in reading this entire account.
