If you are in a good mood for some Korean food this restaurant is a great option. The menu has a good variety of dishes and the food is always fresh and delicious. The service is also great the staff is friendly and attentive. They have enough vegetarian dishes too. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a good Korean meal. View all feedback.
What Olyvia J doesn't like about Sarangchae:
The food was decent and our server was friendly. However, we were allowed to book a table close to closing time but felt rushed once we were there, which made us uncomfortable. Additionally, it is illegal not to serve tap water. The explanation given was that they didn't want to provide cups, but we received cups when ordering beer and canned drinks. View all feedback.
I wish Google had a 0-star rating option because this is, without a doubt, the worst restaurant I have ever been to in the UK. I'm not exaggerating. The food is not necessarily inedible, but it is definitely not worth the visit. Everything is way too expensive and the quality of the food is poor. I ordered a Doenjang-jjigae for 14 pounds and all I got was a few thin slices of potato, some chili flakes, and at most 2 whole mushrooms. It was basically like eating watered-down chili paste with a few veggies and rice. When I asked the server why there was no seafood in my dish, as I had seen it on the online menu, he blamed me for ordering the wrong item. My girlfriend ordered a Beef Japchae for 10 pounds and it was small, watery, and the temperature of the dish was all over the place - some noodles were cold, the beef was hot, and the veggies were lukewarm. We may not have ordered their "signature dish," but this level of quality is unacceptable considering the price we paid. I would have been happier with some bread and butter. I am writing this review while still in the restaurant and, honestly, McDonald's seems like a 3-star Michelin restaurant in comparison. I don't think I'm being unreasonable here - one of the waiters, who seemed like a part-timer, was nice, but the other guy, who appeared to be a manager/owner, was pretty rude when I addressed my concerns by simply asking, "Is this my order? I thought I ordered the one with seafood."
Great food, always try to have something different, never disappointed. Most recently had the fried rice, very simple but incredibly tasty.
The food was excellent, flavoursome and the Ramen was spicy. The meal was reasonably priced and service was quick.

This fantastic little restaurant serves delicious authentic Korean dishes. I tried the Cheese Topokki without the fish cake and found it to be flavorful and satisfying. The portion sizes are very generous, so I skipped having a starter and was glad I did. The prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly and welcoming.
