I've never submitted a review of anything, but felt the need to post after my experience here. We've driven past this place a million times and always thought it was an old European bakery that's been no business since the fifties. We pictured an old diner ambiance. Our normal breakfast joint is Anna's House down the street but there was a wait so we went searching for another place. We decided to stick our head into Silverberry and we were surprised to see an extremely clean, modern, friendly and comfortable restaurant with a unique menu. We had a two year old and it was casual enough to be comfortable with her. This place has become our #1 breakfast destination. I recommend to the owners to update their buildings outside appearance so people know it's a newer business. You can't see through the windows and the sign suggests it's a bakery and not a full restaurant. Coffee was great, food was amazing. They have waffles, quiches, breakfast sandwiches, and I had a Pasty! It was as good as if it was from the UP.
Fast Wi-Fi, good service, excellent coffee, great pastries, local flavor. Will definitely be going back.
Came in at close with another customer ahead of me and Angela, the owner, was extremely friendly and willing to stay open for myself to get coffee, and for the lady ahead of me to wait for her friend so they could order a late lunch. The menu looks great with a variety of pastries, breakfast, waffles, salads, sandwiches, and soup, but I did not try any since I only ordered a cortado, espresso cut with steamed milk at a one to one ratio. Their house blend espresso tastes great leaving a wonderful coffee roast in the mouth, not too roasty but with lots of bold flavor. I plan to return for their homemade menu of tasty looking breakfast and lunch!
Perfect little retreat for a pastry and cafè! Authentic European options highly recommended!! Supporting the state of Michigan by brewing Grand Rapids Roasting Company beans and serving Traverse City based Great Lakes potato chips. I agree with those who mention the exterior being misleading.....the food, service, and atmosphere are spot on though :
