I come to this cafe for breakfast on a fairly regular basis and it is wonderfully consistent with its friendliness and good, basic casual food. What vin21 12 doesn't like about The Market Cafe:
I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a takeaway lunch after hearing good things from my brother and someone else recently. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed due to the very small portion of meat I received. The taste was good, but I can only give it 3 stars because there was only one small slice of meat and a half slice. My expectations were high, so it was a shame. View all feedback.

Tasty sunday dinner,lovely veg and gravy the meat a little tough might be better to do in slow cooker and wrong dessert arrived however it was nice and we were happy with what we ordered. Good value for money and was delivered in time to Ashington. Thanks
Just bought probably the worst 2 sandwiches i have ever bought. Been here b4 and sandwiches were excellent, but today 22nd Sept was a different story. Ordered bacon, egg and fried onion....bacon, mushroom and fried onion. Bacon was half cooked and all fat, fried onions were raw and fried egg was half raw. As you might of guessed, most of it went in the bin. Need to up your game guys. Plenty of other local businesses that serve better....

It is a pleasant, small restaurant with a number of pavement tables which are just great in warm weather. Overall I would say that it is excellent value for money and a warm welcome.
We have bought a Sunday lunch takeaway a few times. They have always been high quality home cooked food and excellent value for money. Service was very efficient fast and friendly. Well done.
