Maharaj's Lounge - Northumberland

We went here last Thursday with my Mother-in-law (91) and had a lovely meal. The staff were friendly and welcoming and made sure we were sitting at a table away from the door so that Ma-in-law wouldn't be in a draught when the door opened. All the food was delicious and I was pleased that the starters weren't too big; this meant I was able to finish my yummy Chicken Honey Lapiaza. Himself's Lamb Goshtaba Dhaniwala disappeared like snow of a dyke and was pronounced to be excellent. Ma-in-law really enjoyed her Lamb Korma. I only wish that we didn't live a three hour drive away from Blyth, but hey, maybe that's not such a bad thing; we'd never be out of the place!

We tried the Maharaj’s lounge as our usual takeaway was closed. Let’s say we won’t be back, flavourless, sweet and hardly any meat in the dishes. Really disappointed

This is a lovely restaurant. The staff are excellent and very attentive. The food was absolutely gorgeous. Very enjoyable experience.

Lovely meal last night. Excellent service from friendly and attentive staff. Ideally situated close to good size car park with free parking.

English staff which seems to be happening in many Indian restaurants which results in lack of atmosphere. To be fare it was a quiet night but we are not good at customer service and young staff have not developed any personality the food was placed on the table in near silence. The curry was good but the staff were more occupied with there cronies holding court at the cocktail bar ..
