Impressive effort on vegan and gluten-free options, including separate fryers and toasters. Friendly service, delicious food, and reasonable prices make this cafe a must-visit. The cozy decor and landscape view add to the experience. Vegan dishes are tasty and satisfying, with options for all dietary preferences. The Sunday roast and steak pie are highly recommended. Despite the lack of vegan options at another restaurant, Cafe One stands out for its excellent vegan fare and warm atmosphere. Don't miss the bacon butties and ice cream for a delightful beach experience.
I visited this restaurant today on November 28th, 2023 after seeing reviews online. Despite the reviews not being recent, I was disappointed to find that there were no vegan options available, not even milk. When a man at the next table suggested I order a jacket potato, I declined as I had some at home and didn't see the point in paying for one without any vegan margarine or other accompaniments. The lack of vegan options made me feel like I had been transported back to the 1980s. I would not recommend wasting your time at this restaurant.
I had a great experience at this restaurant. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised to find a cafe that offered a perfect vegan English breakfast. It's also conveniently located close to the beach. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be returning in the future!
Cafe One is a local cafe at the end of a row of terraced houses in a very industrial area. From the outside, it’s the last place you would expect to find a range of vegan options. A good range too see photo for menu Jan 2022. Staff really knew all about requirements too to the extent they told me I couldn’t have a roll because they had milk in, but the sliced bread was dairy free. I had a vacon sandwich, with chips, and a big home made flapjack, which was lovely. The other half had a Linda Mc fish cake. They even had vegan mayo and salad cream! There is a separate frier for the vegan stuff and they take gluten free seriously too they even have a separate toaster. Impressive effort and knowledge. A lot of larger, more expensive places could learn a lot from the staff at Cafe One. So friendly too. Parking is on a residential street right outside. There’s not many vegan options round here so this was a very welcome find. Updated from previous review on 2022 01 28
To find a place that serves a vegan menu locally is amazing. The service is friendly and welcoming. The disappointment is I can only give four stars ? Obviously 5 stars needed. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit
I found this restaurant to be a great discovery! They offer a wide variety of delicious vegan dishes and the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to accommodate other dietary preferences. I will definitely return!
