I recently called in my order to this restaurant and was put on hold for an extended period of time. Eventually, I decided to stay on the phone as I drove to the restaurant. When I arrived, I expected it to be busy, but instead I found the lady behind the counter talking on her cell phone. The food at Mae's Southern Cafe was absolutely delicious! This was our first time eating here, but we will definitely be back. The cake was also very good. I would give this restaurant 10 stars - the best soul food I have ever eaten! The prices are very reasonable as well. I tried the hush puppies, dressing, and two sides and it was amazing. I'm not sure who is in the kitchen, but they are doing a fantastic job. Keep up the good work!
This was my first time dining at this restaurant and it was delicious. I ordered chicken and dumplings, yams, Mac-n cheese, cornbread, and banana pudding. The food was so good that I almost licked the plate clean.
We eat here about twice a month and eating is always good. I mean, who doesn't like it when you cook for lunch or dinner in the south. you eat is always good. I almost never tried anything on her menu and I wasn't disappointed. Do not forget to try their banana pudding for desert!
Friday fish fry!! Doesn’t get any better than this. Great fish and the sides were great too. If your looking for a great fish fry that’s also a great value, this is your place.
