Denny's - Northfield
Denny's
Description
Denny's offers a familiar menu and generally delicious food, but experiences vary widely. While some patrons rave about the friendly and efficient service, others highlight instances of poor management, inattentive waitstaff, and cleanliness issues. Complaints range from screaming managers to dirty tables and long waits for orders. However, exceptional staff members occasionally shine through, creating memorable moments for guests. The restaurant's decor may feel dated, yet it remains a beloved spot for many, especially due to its affordable prices. With its ups and downs, Denny's can be a hit or miss for diners.

I was in search of a late-night meal when I stumbled upon this Denny's restaurant after midnight. Upon entering, I immediately noticed how cold it was inside. I waited nearly 15 minutes for the server to take my order, despite being the only customer in line. Feeling uncomfortable in the freezing dining area, I opted to wait for my food in my car. Upon receiving my order, I found that half of it was missing - including hash browns, eggs, toast, and drinks. When I brought this to their attention, I was informed that the cook was about to leave and refused to make any more food. Meanwhile, two other customers had been waiting for over 15 minutes to place their orders, only to be told that the registers were closed due to the lack of a cook. This was a disappointing experience during my weekend visit to New Jersey. I have never encountered such inefficiency at a Denny's restaurant before.
I was impressed by the excellent service, quick delivery, and high-quality food at this restaurant. The manager, Bryan, stood out for his exceptional efforts in ensuring everything ran smoothly during the busy late-night hours. He was polite, accommodating, and the cinnamon pancakes were as delicious as always.
This was our first time at this restaurant location and unfortunately, my family and I were very disappointed. We waited 40 minutes for a table, which we understand was due to Father's Day, but waiting an additional hour for our food which came out cold was unacceptable. The service was lacking, with the two girls at the front appearing unfriendly and distracted. We even noticed one of them vaping. Overall, we were not able to enjoy our meal and believe that Denny's can do better.
I often visit Denny's in New Jersey with my mother, who loves the restaurant. Despite living in Pennsylvania, I make the effort to visit as often as possible. During my last visit, I ordered a chorizo skillet which was deliciously spicy. Denny's serves decent food and as long as my mom is happy, I will continue to go there. The restaurant has good wheelchair accessibility with designated handicapped spots and a flat entrance that doesn't require a ramp.
I had a really enjoyable time at this restaurant. The food was tasty and our server, Joe, was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The vegetarian options were particularly good, with the veggie burgers being a standout for me as a vegetarian. I was very grateful for having such delicious choices available to me.
