Contribute FeedbackSo let me start by stating that my family is from Spain…and I was confused about the Spanish flag hanging in front of the restaurant since I had looked online at the menu and it barely had any AUTHENTIC SPANISH (FROM SPAIN) items, but whatever it’s only a flag. We walked in and to my surprise it had a warm feeling to it. I was happy that it wasn’t a big place and it wasn’t insanely packed so I figured that the service would fine. One thing I thought was weird is that the hostess walked around with sunglasses on her head…umm she looked very unprofessional and like a moron since it was about 9 pm. I looked through the menu and picked out 3 dishes that I wanted to try…Patatas Bravas, Pulpo and Pan con Tomate all without garnish (allergic to the garnish). The dishes came out all with garnish. Sent them back…totally annoyed at this point, but I tried to stay calm. They gave us a cheese and meat sampler, so that kept me happy. We got our food, except for the patatas bravas, which they forgot, but I asked for anyway. The pulpo was marinated. I love octopus, and I was not expecting to taste just vinegar. I only had one bite. The pan con tomate was great, but it was definitely an “Americanized” version of it. The patatas bravas is a rustic dish of fried potatoes with a sauce on top and Orillas version added an odd spiced tomato sauce under it. The food wasn’t awful, but with I expected SO much more since it somewhat boasted it’s Spanish influence. If you have not been to Spain definitely eat there. You won’t know the difference and the food IS tasty, but if you are expecting AUTHENTIC SPANISH I’m not sure if you would be thrilled. The only thing that resembles authentic Spanish dishes are the names of the items on the menus. They should take the Spanish flag down and advertise that they are a Hispanic influenced restaurant. Then those who KNOW BETTER won’t be disappointed, but like I said…THE FOOD IS TASTY.
