If you want to try something different than the usual pho noodle soup, try this place. Very busy, their signature dish is their banh cuon ravioli like dish, very delicious. Remember to bring cash. View all feedback.
What Roger D doesn't like about An&cafe Thien.thanh:
Been going here for years. But this morning was different. I order the soy milk and the dry shrimp Banh cuon. They said too early they didn't have neither one. Mind you it's 930 am and they open at 8am. Regardless what time it is if you are open you should have both. Then my brother was eating one of their dish and bite into a hard plastic piece. Some foreign object not food, the waiter hurry too the dish away and di... View all feedback.
This is one place that constantly shows up on recommendations and tik tok videos on what to eat in Houston and I understand why. It lives up to the hype. The banh cuon was so good. There are different types to choose from so I suggest ordering several and share it with the table. We ordered one with beef that came with this rice paper cracker shell that covered it. We also ordered the more traditional ones as well. No photos due to taking turns eating while one waits in the car with the dog. The parking in the plaza can be dangerous. There's no real borders or lines so cars just drive wherever they want. I never realized you could be an accident almost four times just entering and exiting this plaza.
When I was traveling in Vietnam, Bahn Cuons were my favorite food find. So whenever I see it on the menu, I always get it! This place is seriously legit and a must try when in Houston. We came at 11am for lunch and was happy to know we just beat the rush. Tried their Bahn Beo and other soup noodle dishes as well and I'd suggest just coming here for just the Bahn Cuons...they're soooooo delicious! If you're coming here for dinner, come early because they close early.
Don't let this whole in the wall location deter you from trying some delicious authentic Vietnamese bahn Cuon. This spot probably makes the best I've ever had. Price is reasonable. When you see nothing but Asians packed into the restaurant. That should be a tell tell sign that this place is legit. Everything was absolutely perfect and tasted fresh. Will definitely return to try everything on their menu
I ran across this place on Yelp looking for something different to try. With so many great reviews and it 's super affordable, how could I possibly pass it up? The first time I tried to go it was closed (well blame that on COVID hours or something). Two months later I tried again and it was open! We walked in and just kind of stood at the door waiting for someone to either tell us to sit down, take us to a table, or have us order at the counter. It really wasn 't clear what you are suppose to do. A woman walks up to us and decides to walk the couple behind us to a table as we continue to stand there now even more confused. After some back and forth between her and another employee in I assume Vietnamese, we are sat at a table next to (i.e. connected to) the table the other couple gets sat at. I 'm fine with sharing tables, but this was a bit odd and would only lead to problems later as our order also gets mixed up with theirs. We opt for #11 and #3 cause those have lots of reviews and when in Rome! #11 was great, would totally have that again. #3 was good. It was different. My lunch companion wasn 't as into it. Overall I chalk this up as really glad I tried something different and enjoyed it, but probably not heading back anytime soon.
