My late grandfather often stopped here to grab a beer, my grandfather was my caregiver and one of the most influential people in my life. We often stopped here in the Q 1960 's when I was only knee high to a grasshopper (or something like that!! . I sometimes would refuse to go in because he could stay here for awhile sometimes and I would beep the horn after awhile and he would bring me out bottles of orange soda and chips to keep me quiet. Other times I would go in with him and I would ask if he was almost done and he would tell me as soon as I 'm done my beer we 'll leave , somehow his beer would be full again next time I looked. So many hours and days spent in the Gray Barn. I remembered this place distinctly and I had never been back since the mid 1960 's, so for my dear sweet grandfathers 120th birthday today I decided to go back (yes, it 's still open!!! and have a drink for him. I expected it had probably had some major changes in the last 50+ years since I 've been here, but I couldn 't believe it...it was almost exactly as I remembered it!!!! They had made very few changes!!! When you get to be my age changes are happening so fast and nothing is as you remember it, and I was overjoyed that it was the same place I remembered!! From the old bar to the wainscoting on the walls. The only thing missing was the pickle jar behind the bar!!! The memories of my time spent here were exactly as I remembered!!!
Great place for an event or just to hang out for some drinks. Great location across from the shop.

Charming local dive bar with plenty of vintage wall decor. The crowd mostly consists of locals, but both the staff and patrons are warm and welcoming.
If you love a hyper-local experience, this is the place for you! The people here are wonderful, and the restaurant has a charming vintage ambiance dating back to 1925.
