I went here with a friend last night. We had no plan on going to this bar however we walked past it and decided to go in for a drink. The prices are very good and the size of my vodka was what I would say more then average. Was planning on going to another restaurant but as closed went in here as nearby. It has quite a small menu but is very inventive and does it well. Share plates big and small all looked good- the Japanese salad was a picture and had a lot of variety of tastes. The octopus was tender and tasty, served with hand cut potato wedges. The roasted chicken was generous and very moist, served with wilted greens. Will plan to go back and try others.
This place from the outside is deceiving, we walked in and walked out but then went back in, and so glad we did! It was sensational. The decor is great, it's dark but had greenery throughout and really cool. The concept is all about sharing the food. The food is modern, delicious and beautifully presented. We had the corn, steak, Korean salad, pork macaron cheese. Yum yum yum. The only thing I didn't really like was the Korean salad as it was a bit of an acquired taste and weird textures but otherwise everything was great. Desserts were good too. For the amount of food we had it cost Aus $113 in total which was well worth it. The service was also fantastic, the guy that served us was great! So glad we stopped back in. It's only a short walk from the city centre to Northbridge. Definitely recommend going here when in Perth.
Remember the bad old days in Perth of awful service, overpriced uninspiring meals in equally uninspiring surrounds?Well, this place is the exact opposite. The service is great and the staff have a smile and a welcome, the prices are excellent for what you get and the meals inventive, fresh and very tasty and every effort has been made with the decor and the ambience but fear not its a welcoming place despite the cutting edge design. On a Wednesday night during the fringe festival it was only half full at best with mixed age customers but that allowed us to get one of the stand-alone tables rather than the mess/communal tables. Its a share plate concept and we got four of them between two with bread. It was more than enough. Every dish looked great, and tasted even better. A shout out to the clams and the mac n pork. The Perth dining scene has improved significantly in the last few years, and this place is a front-runner in driving it forward. Makes you wish places like this had been around 10+ years ago!
The name almost put us off, as it mainly had 25-35 year olds there. We were the oldest there, but didn't feel out of place. Got a window seat, without the window', great spot, and then treated like royalty. Noisy, after 5 mins it didn't matter. Staff where so nice,Francesca(always smiling) and Brett( very cool) were so nice. Food, the baby carrots with fennel, tasty and crunhcy, the other salad not sure what it was called, tasted sensational and good serves as well. The skirt steak was cooked to perfection. No room for dessert. The food came out fairly quickly as it was jam packed on saturday night 9pm. Left us feeling a lot younger and more in love......
