Contribute Feedback What Ron Lemke likes about Govinda's Restaurant:
My son and I had returned to Perth from Melbourne end August 2017 and stayed in a hostel nearby. We were on an extreme budget and visited Govinda's twice or more enjoying the food and affordable prices. No complaints at all. View all feedback.
What Fae Christiansen doesn't like about Govinda's Restaurant:
incident happens 26/10/2017 12.20 watches worst customs every time! I just got home from a bigger lady like 40 minutes ago. I went there to get a T/A to eat, served by another lady and asked about the price of sweets. She said $3. So I asked about a bigger service that's $5. the higher lady then told her something in her own speech (which is rude) and then she still put the sweetness in the same tiny round container.... The curry here is very bland and made in the cheapest possible way. The spices are not properly cooked down which results in the dish tasting inauthentic. Barely any rice on the plate. Interior is not well kept. Tables around us were dirty throughout our whole visit there. Staff was unfriendly and didn't respond to our smiles and greetings. Very negative energy inside from the staff. Not going back.
Amazing vegetarian food. Used to be pay as you feel but now set prices. Still a very cheap meal and nutritious and delicious. Sometimes closes early before real closing time which is disappointing.
The signage says it's a Hare Krishna restaurant which I presume means it's run by a chap who follows the Hare Krishna order and the food is vegetarian. A basic, self service place wherein food is kept in large vats to choose from and depending on what you choose, you pay. As expected the later in the evening you go, the more stale will the food be. I walked in for a quick dinner near the train station and frankly for 10 bucks, you can't expect much more.
I remember when this was a Krishna "Pay as you feel" place. Thats changed but the prices are still very cheap. I dont find the curries/stews as flavorsome as Annalaksmi, but i really like the samosas and pakoras from Govinda's. The choices and variety of dishes changes frequently and the servings are very large
Great place for vegetarians like me. The food was quite tasty and resonably priced. Go for the standard meal and its a loaded plate for just 12$. I would highly recommend this place specially if you are a pure vegetarian like me... :-) Only flipside is that it shuts very early 7pm to be specific. But food is great and very well priced too.
