I'v... read more I recently enjoyed another fantastic meal at this restaurant. They truly serve the best burgers I've ever had, and I've tried them at many different places. I've been a loyal customer of this takeaway since it first opened in 1979. The 1/2lb chilli and 1/2lb cheese with onion burgers we ordered were absolutely delicious.

However, the highlight of my visit was hearing a fascinating history lesson from another customer named Ian. He reminiscing about the milkshakes he used to enjoy when he was 17 years old. Despite being a loyal customer for 20 years, I found it hard to believe him. But when we asked Carol, she confirmed that the restaurant, Midwest, used to offer milkshakes, although it was deemed not 'cost effective' even 25 years ago. Ian also shared the interesting story behind why the Stormbringers dish was named as such. It was a unique experience to not only enjoy a meal, but also learn about the restaurant's history. While they may no longer serve milkshakes, the burgers and historical anecdotes make it a must-visit spot.

Staff were v... read more Dropped in here with family on a Friday evening. We had five burgers which were cooked very quickly with minimum wait despite it being really busy. Staff were very friendly and burgers were all excellent, fresh, good quality, great taste and really good value for money. We have used this takeaway several times in the past and, to our shame, haven’t been for a while. We will definitely change this and will be back very soon. An excellent place for burgers that are so much better than the big chain takeaways burgers how they should be.

Riding down Wellingborough Road, i spotted Midwest, which used to be a favourite in the 80s and 90s. I pulled in and ordered the corn belly buster 1/4 pounder with fries. Got home put the bike away and sat down. What a brilliant surprise, it was just how i remember, burger was meaty, bun nice and fresh. Salad good and the corn relish i hadn't had for about 20 years. I'd forgotten how much i liked it. Im full and contented. Thank you Midwest, my love affair is rekindled. I'll be seeing you again very soon. Best burger I've had in years. Nice to know some things haven't changed. Take care. X
