We had a fantastic meal at this restaurant that my daughter and I discovered on Urbanspoon. While the exterior and pub-style interior are not very inviting, the food truly exceeded our expectations. This place definitely needs to expand their restaurant. It gets too crowded and loud. Hard to figure out where to pick up a to go order from. Also when sitting you have people standing near you bc its too packed. Three stars for food bc my mozzarella and basil pizza was undercooked but everyone else's pizza was fine. This place is fantastic! If you’re in Northampton, you absolutely have to check out Joe's Café. It truly offers the best pizza outside of New York—unless you’re talking about the original Regina Pizzeria in the North End of Boston, of course. The owners are down-to-earth and always available to make sure your food is perfect. The original decor adds to the genuine atmosphere of the restaurant. The spaghetti with mussels and clams is top-notch, and Joe's house special pizza is so delicious you might just overindulge! Occasionally, the waiter can be a bit grumpy (to be fair, it's more like he’s often grumpy), but the outstanding food makes it all worthwhile.
I had the mushroom salad and tortellini soup, both were fantastic. Parking can be tricky but there is a lot across the street to use. Service was fast, food came out quick, service was perfectly attentive but not bothersome. This is my choice of restaurants when I go to Northampton. Love it. My friend had a personal sized pizza and said it was really good as well. Dine in confidence!
