What User doesn't like about The Mill Restaurant:
I went to the restaurant for lunch and it was empty. The highlight of the meal for me was the sweet potato fries, which were crispy and delicious. The burger was just okay. View all feedback.
Amanda our server was very gracious on our arrival. We were just testing out their wings after all. However we found the bar ready to take on a large crowd. There were just a few regulars on a hockey night. We ordered our drinks, I can speak for the Muskoka cream ale draft it was served cold and was very refreshing also no wait for it to arrive at the table. The Greek salad has a light dressing, not to oily and a good selection of ingredients. We ordered both mild and hot wings with fries which were crisp the wings were large and tasty plus the light breading was just that. Nothing was over done in anyway. The traditional wings have nice dry skins and not at all greasy. Both flavours were pleasant and definitely will be on the table at our next visit. I can't say anything negative about the service our server Amanda checked up on us regularly through the meal, and was timely for refreshing our drinks. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends as a local restaurant. It's now on my list, see you soon at The Mill.
We were doing business in the area and spotted this place a few weeks ago so googled it in case we were in the area again. Reviews were mixed but mostly on the positive side and leaning towards a very varied menu. So we tried it out. Arrived at about 5pm on a weeknight and the place was almost deserted. Did spot a couple of guys sitting in the very large bar area. We were alone in the dining area for about 15 minutes then they seated another couple, beside us! Huge place and they stacked their only two pairs of guests next to each other. The decor of the place is pleasant. The stained glass windows all around the room are a nice touch but in the Easter season certainly reminded one of the way of the cross. Theme of the stained glass is the Mill, so no confusion. The menu was not very extensive but we found a few things to choose from.Within a minute of choosing fish and chips my wife changed her mind and ordered the special of the day, a fish dish. Without even going to the kitchen to check how far along the order was, we were told it was too late to change our minds.See the trend? Service was not good at all. There appeared to be 3 servers on duty, looking after 4 people, but our server left a lot to be desired. He let it be known he was not impressed with the 11% tip we left him. Grumble grumble.Nice place, food ok, parking was ok, should be a place to mark to go back to but I doubt if we ever will.
We went on a Saturday evening with a group of 12. Thought it was a good idea to make reservations. Totally unnecessary. The restaurant part was totally empty but there were a handful of patrons in the bar section. 2 servers only, which wouldn't be too bad if they were organized and working together. Orders were given twice to get it right and still 3 meals were a little off. The food itself is good. Calamari not bad but not great. Snapper and steaks were good. It took a long time to get staff attention for the bill and then it was divided up incorrectly (because the wait staff took orders separately and without coordination). The entire time we were there only 1 other table was occupied so being busy was not an excuse. We all agreed that the new waitress was doing everything she could but was not well supported. In conclusion - if you are just 2 and want a so-so experience at reasonable price then it's ok, otherwise keep looking.
They are always packed especially for breakfast they our know for them doesn't matter if your going Monday to Friday it's full always a little wait it goes by fast everything on the breakfast menu is out of this world and you get your money's worth the staff are like family and treat you like family you also make new friends there on the weekends it's full with more of neighbourhood family's George the cook is always going around making sure everyone is full and happy always topping off your coffee try the bacon and eggs with side order of Peamel bacon as well as sausages you can ask for home fries or French fries put gravy on them it's the same way with there Dinner menu absolutely the best anywhere across the city even my sisters restaurant and my uncles restaurants as well and there my family but the truth is just that the truth so no matter if you want breakfast or Dinner this is the place P.S theirs at least 4-5 restaurants in the neighbourhood and they all suck and way over priced and never full for either breakfast or Dinner thanks Paul Paul
For people who remember The Mill Restaurant that was at Leslie/York Mills, I would not rush out to the re-opening of The Mill Restaurant, located at Lawrence East of Don Mills. Yes, one of the past owner's, re-opened the Mill. The greek salad is certainly not like the one that we all remember. They have the Strawberry Pie on the menu and it is not bad. The menu on their website is not same as the restaurant one. The owner Nick is a rude man and has no class. My friend and I asked the greek salad that was listed on the website and Nick claim to have made the salad himself not sure he know how to make the salad. He left out the olives, and eggs in my salad. Nick brought 2 shrimps on a separate plate when I asked why the shrimp were not in each of salad. He claimed that he could not afford to give each two shrimps and said he was not a billionaire. Don't know where that comment came from. The manager of the restaurant bent over back words to make us happy. The restaurant is big and has a nice bar area. I ended up ordering a burger and it was very tasted and the sweet potato fries were very good. Garlic bread was brought to the table not too bad not great just okay. If you live in the Thornhill/Richmond Hill area, don't make the trip out to The re-open Mill or any other part of the City. I mentioned to the manager to keep the menu that is currently online. The greek salad does not have the garlic that the original one had, that might be good. I give this restaurant a year.
