This is one of our favorite soup spots on Yonge Street. We recommend trying the chicken ginseng soup and clam broth soup. The side dishes were also delicious. The soups are clear and not too salty, which we appreciate. However, we were not impressed with the sweet and sour pork dish. The meat was tough and difficult to chew, and the flavor was overly sour from the orange juice. View all feedback.
What Richard Bui doesn't like about Apkujung:
The food was subpar and lacked flavor. They do not offer the option to split bills. The service was appalling. During my first visit with a friend, the elderly waitress became increasingly agitated as the restaurant got busier. She pressured us to finish our meal quickly, despite other tables being there longer. Her behavior included slamming dishes, glaring at us, and whispering derogatory comments. When we tried to... I recently had dinner at this restaurant with my family after a round of golf. I had the chance to meet the owner and his wife, who were both very kind. It was obvious that they are a hardworking and humble couple. The food was excellent, with generous portion sizes and high-quality ingredients. The side dishes were also plentiful and delicious, a key sign of a top-notch Korean restaurant. If you want to truly indulge in authentic Korean cuisine, this is the place to go.
The food tasted absolutely horrible. I went with my Korean friend, and she was shocked at how bad everything tasted. The only two things that were decent were the fish cake that came out as a side dish and the onions from the squid stir fry. The soup with noodles was absolutely terrible. So, please don't trust the five-star reviews. And it's expensive...Good thing: the server was really nice, and I hope she can find a new workplace.
Very good food and very good service. The chicken soup transformed over the course of the meal which was very cool and tasty. The octopus was not spicy enough. Selection of banchan was a bit limited.
The most authentic korean restaurant Ive been to, the owners are really friendly and the food just reminds me of my childhood when my grandma cooked for me ???
