Stopped in to Katsu Sushi for a quick lunch. Both my colleague and I were delighted with the quality of the sushi. The place was packed too! Very affordable and fresh! Will return! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Katsu Sushi:
This place was recommended by a friend but after eating here I'm wondering just what that friend considers good sushi to be! There's really no excuse for poor sushi on the west coast! The spicy tuna roll and dragon roll had way too much mayo (all I could taste), the spicy tuna was NOT spicy, just mushy. My friend ordered the rainbow roll of which I had a piece - it was acceptable. They didnt give chopsticks and then they smeared a big chunk of wasabi all over the top of the Salmon Avocado Roll and California Rolls. The salmon also had a very soapy and off smell so we did not eat it.
Both the salmon teriyaki and the beef teriyaki were as expected with generous servings at a very good value. The "steamed vegetables" were at best a garnish; we would have liked more. Next time Ill add some salad or edamame on the side.
The Yaki Udon has a weird smell and doesnt taste good. The Udon was overcooked therefore "slimy" and baby food like. Just gross. I threw it out. The Chicken Teriyaki was okayish. The Atlantic Salmon sashimi was great! Wont order here again.
This sushi is not good quality. The Canuck Roll had a weird taste, the tuna titaki was chewy, the Yam Roll was falling apart and had a very weird taste as well. My Sunomono Salad was ok but the avocado was over ripe. I would not recommend this place.
We always get our sushi from here. Best spot in north van!
