Description

Kith and Kin in Whitley Bay offers a mixed experience characterized by delightful food and inconsistent service. Many patrons rave about the delicious dishes, such as Turkish eggs and steak sandwiches, praising the quality and flavors. However, there are frequent complaints regarding service quality, with some describing the staff as unfriendly or inattentive. While the coffee is generally well-received, patrons have noted shortcomings with other beverages. Despite these issues, the café's welcoming environment and tasty offerings attract customers who are eager to return, making it a noteworthy stop for brunch in the area.

Now had a few takeouts from this place and have enjoyed every single morsel of the food. Haven't had anything savoury, the cakes/slices/flapjacks are wonderful and to top it all decent coffee. This is a hidden gem definitely my go to place when in Whitley Bay.

I often travel from Gateshead to Kith most weekends and I have never been disappointed with either the food or service. The chefs consistently deliver food that is both well-presented and high quality. The front of house staff are also excellent, always serving with a warm smile and a caring attitude. Every member of the staff is top-notch. I have my favorite dishes at Kith, but I won't spoil the surprise for you. If you haven't been to this restaurant yet, it is a must-try.

The only downside is that the sandwiches eventually come to an end, leaving you craving for more. The price point, however, is a bit steep. At £7.50 for a sandwich and almost £3 for a coffee, you and your dining partner could easily spend over £20 before even considering dessert. Opting for dessert could easily bring your bill up to £26, which is quite pricey, especially if you have a big appetite and may end up feeling a bit hungry afterwards. I still can't decide if it's worth the cost. It's like the "$5 shake" scene with Travolta in Pulp Fiction - an amazing sandwich, perhaps the best, but at the end of the day, it's still just a sandwich. I will definitely be returning to Kith and Kin for special occasions, but it may not fit into my regular dining budget. Overall, the food is fantastic and I hope they keep up the great work.

Visited here recently for brunch and nit having been fir a while I can see stds have not dropped. We had sausage sandwiches with one accompanied with a fried egg all of which were very tasty. Accompanied this with really good Americans which came piping hot and so were not cold by time brunch arrived as can be the case in some places. Effective social distancing and Table cleaning were very evident.
