What Sean E likes about Joy Of The Orient:
The very best Chow Mein and the Chilli Beef is beyond excellent. Delivery is always on time (so far at any rate). It does however seem to be shut on very many occassions, View all feedback. What 856kevd doesn't like about Joy Of The Orient:
The food took 2 hours to arrive and when it did, items were missing and the food was cold. Despite trying to contact the takeaway multiple times, they did not answer the phone. Ultimately, we had to throw everything away and my kids were upset. I would highly recommend avoiding this place. View all feedback.

read moreNestled in North Shields, this Chinese takeaway has garnered a reputation for disappointing dining experiences. Diners have expressed frustration over subpar food quality, unfulfilled orders, and poor customer service. Signature dishes like the house special curry and red Thai curry fell short of expectations, often arriving cold, bland, or not as described. Online ordering proved cumbersome, with lengthy waits and unsatisfactory meals leading to anger and dissatisfaction. Although a handful found some dishes enjoyable, the overall sentiment suggests that patrons are more likely to leave disappointed than delighted, casting doubt on the establishment's longevity in the competitive food scene.
