I have to say, the young lad Josh behind the bar is a credit to the place. Great humour, friendliness and all round service. After a long drive from Dumbarton and... read more We recently stayed in North Shields for 3 nights and decided to dine at Copperfields, our favorite restaurant in the area. After a long drive from Dumbarton and craving a good Sunday roast, we couldn't imagine going anywhere else. And as always, Copperfields did not disappoint. The ambience was lovely, the food was great, just how we like it. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we returned 2 nights later and I ordered the same dish again. I highly recommend this restaurant. And a special thank you to the friendly young man who served us at the bar on both evenings, he was an absolute pleasure to chat with. It's always nice when staff take the time to interact with customers.

Two visits over a three night midweek stay and I actually had the roasts on both occasions, while hubby sampled something else. The food was hot and delicious and the puddings mmmmmmmm It is our favourite place to eat if we’re in the area and we’ve never yet had anything we didn’t like, and the staff are attentive without being intrusive We’ll definitely return next time we visit and thoroughly recommend to anyone who wants to sample lovely food in a chilled homely atmosphere
