Plans changed on Friday evening when the heavens opened so we visited again this time for drinks food, both of us opting for the fish chips, it took a while to arrive due to the volume of orders before us but my word it was worth waiting for, meal was piping hot, well presented tasted amazing, do note they stop serving at 8.45. The young barmaid was really efficient loved the way she put the drunken American back in his place, so politely done. Both she the pub are fabulous assets to the Grand Hotel

After a long drive from Dumbarton and... read more We recently stayed in North Shields for 3 nights and decided to dine at Copperfields, our favorite restaurant in the area. After a long drive from Dumbarton and craving a good Sunday roast, we couldn't imagine going anywhere else. And as always, Copperfields did not disappoint. The ambience was lovely, the food was great, just how we like it. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we returned 2 nights later and I ordered the same dish again. I highly recommend this restaurant. And a special thank you to the friendly young man who served us at the bar on both evenings, he was an absolute pleasure to chat with. It's always nice when staff take the time to interact with customers.
