What User doesn't like about The Royal:
We weren't planning on eating, but as we strolled around the park on a Sunday morning, we happened upon a restaurant in the east woods near the royal area. We decided to stop in for a light meal and a quick drink. Luckily, they had a last-minute cancellation and were able to seat us. After looking over the menu, we decided to order the roasted dinner. On my first visit to this restaurant, I was impressed by the fantastic location with a superb view, ample parking, and a spacious outdoor area that is dog-friendly. The staff greeted us with professional and courteous service, and the tables were well spaced out. The special board had some lovely options. I ordered the fish cake and beef basket, both of which were delicious and reasonably priced. The menu also had impressive options for those with gluten-free diets. I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this place.

Our drinks arrived promptly and our meals followed shortly after. The food was outstanding - perfectly cooked and piping hot. If I had to nitpick, I would say that the service was a bit formal, but the food spoke for itself. In conclusion, a fantastic roasted dinner and efficient service. I recommend making a reservation in advance, although we were fortunate to snag a table.
We visited for Saturday midday to celebrate common birthdays. the food was excellent and the service friendly and professional. good ale to accompany the meal as a bonus. a tip that we learned from the helpful staff that taxis in portishead do not exist. so that they planned their trip well.
We decided to dine at this restaurant spontaneously as we were passing by. Although the decor is not particularly flashy, the quality of the food definitely makes up for it. We were pleasantly surprised by the delicious homemade steak pie with plenty of fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection. The Moussaka was simply delightful, paired with a tasty Greek salad. Even the kids enjoyed their fish and chips, which were not greasy at all. Our family left the restaurant feeling satisfied and content. The beer garden also offered a great view.
