I'm 65 years old. we had dinner in humble bird Saturday night. I never, repeat, never had chickens so good. cripple, juicy, but not dripping like others, no fat in itself. we got mild, but used the hot honey delivered and what a combination of aromen. we also have kartoffel salad and Slav. both great supplements to an already wonderful meal. the staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. the place was immacu... I FOUND IT. The closest thing to Howlin Rays without the two hour wait! LIKE HOT DAMN I'm still thinking about this meal. It's was perfect level of spice and heat and flavor I got the medium and the fries were pretty great too! Still think Dave's hot fries are the best but this chicken sandwich is quite possibly second place in my quest for the best chicken sando. Highly Recommend.
OK, here's my second five star review of this amazing place! In the past five weeks we've either picked up or had delivery from them at least six times. I just finished noshing on a perfect drumstick, crunching on deep fried pickles, and seriously enjoying their amazing, hot crispy soft, perfectly seasoned fries. And honestly, where do they get their gigantic chicken breasts, which are moist and tender? I'm never making fried chicken again.
The Humble Melt is so delicious and perfectly crispy that words can't fully capture its greatness! The service is quick and efficient. I really appreciate the simplicity of the space and can't wait to share my experience at Humble Bird with my friends and family!
The reviews for this place were outstanding, so we had to give it a try right away, especially since people were ranking it alongside Howlin Rays, which we absolutely love. I ordered a medium spice Humble Melt, and it turned out to be not spicy at all—my fault for not choosing hot. It was actually quite salty, which is something I haven't experienced with a hot chicken sandwich before. The food was decent—not bad by any means. It’s definitely better than Bangin Buns and Hades Hot Chicken, but I wouldn't place it in my top three. On the bright side, the portions are huge; I was really full after just a third of it! The prices are a bit higher, but they offer the largest plates I’ve seen so far. Overall, it was okay, and I can see myself ordering again, perhaps trying a spicier option next time.
The restaurant’s offerings were certainly flavorful and well-prepared. However, I found a few issues. For $16, the sandwich didn't even come with any dipping sauce, which was disappointing—it was akin to a poorly executed Thousand Island dressing. Additionally, the pieces of chicken in the loaded fries were cut too large, making them difficult to enjoy. Given all the buzz surrounding this place, I was hopeful but ultimately didn't find it worth the hype. I cannot recommend it.
