What User likes about Murphys:
best fish and chips for years! beautiful light crispy teig and obviously homemade kartoffels. all cooked to order. in any case a visit and simple parking opposite. View all feedback. What User doesn't like about Murphys:
The food quality excellent as always. Unfortunately though the quality of service and presentation has gone down markedly. The table service has now disappeared,so you order and take your food to a table yourself . But the worst bit is that the food now comes...in a cardboard box rather than a plate as per takeaway so you might as well do just that. Sad really, used to enjoy our visits there, hence my rating as 3 where... View all feedback.

read moreMurphy's in Hitchin has long been celebrated for its exceptional fish and chips, winning over locals with its freshly cooked meals and generous portions. While the food quality remains commendable, recent visits have raised concerns about declining service and food presentation, with meals now served in cardboard boxes instead of plates. However, the need for consistency in quality and service remains a pressing issue for regular customers.
