Description

The restaurant in North Hatley, located across from the lake and bordering on the river, has a beautiful location but falls short in terms of food quality and service. Many visitors have found the prices to be high for the average dishes offered. Some have experienced long waits for poorly prepared food, with frozen bread and uncooked dishes being served. Although the staff is friendly and attentive, the overall dining experience at this establishment seems to have declined over time. Despite good beers being offered, the inconsistent food quality and high prices have left many patrons feeling unwelcome and dissatisfied. It seems that the restaurant's potential is being overshadowed by its current shortcomings, leaving guests disappointed and unlikely to return for a second visit.

The outdoor bar and dining areas are fantastic, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. The cocktails are delicious, and the food is beautifully prepared and presented. While it can be a bit pricey, it's definitely worth it for a special treat now and then!

The food was nearly inedible—my fish and chips were overcooked, and the burger was dry and tough. However, the service was excellent.

The Good: The location is fantastic, especially the outdoor patio with a lovely view of the river. The Bad: The 'double fried' fish and chips were disappointing— they tasted like they might have been leftovers from Sunday, as we visited on a Monday evening. It was honestly the worst I've ever had! The Ugly: The price was a staggering $19 per portion. On the bright side, the staff were friendly, though a bit inattentive. Our wine arrived quite a bit after our fish dish was served, which came only about three minutes after we ordered it. That led me to suspect it wasn’t freshly cooked. Wine prices were reasonable, and I noticed that some other items from the pub menu seemed slightly more appealing. While I didn't expect a fine dining experience, it was still difficult to rate it more than one star. If you go in with low expectations, you might find it exceeds them.

Stinky foul smelly mussels. Spit out four of the first six and called it quits. The manager had the audacity to say that nothing was wrong and that 's the way the wine sauce should smell . Good lord. The fries were both limp and drenched in fat. Even my Beer was filled three inches from the rim of the glass. Wretched. Steer clear of this place.

I'm surprised by the negative reviews. We had a great experience downstairs in the pub. Our waiter was very attentive and the food was great. It definitely wasn't a cheap meal but we have no regrets!
