My father celebrated his 84th birthday with a special bite to eat. Since the restaurant had a long wait, we thought it would be a good alternative. After waiting for 20 minutes without being served, I politely asked one of the young ladies behind the counter if we could place an order. She seemed upset and uncooperative. We decided to leave and order somewhere else. Unfortunately, the food was bland and poorly presen... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Seaway:
On a rare trip to the seaside last Saturday, June 11th, we went to the takeaway section and ordered two "large" fish and chips and one small. The large fish portions were actually medium-sized everywhere else and more expensive. Unfortunately, the fish was severely undercooked, with batter barely covering it and the inner part of the fish appearing pink. Even the chips were undercooked, lacking in flavor and texture.... Visited this place with family members after driving from sheffield. disappointed does not touch it! the fish tasted bad, a part was pink and red inside. when we complained, they said it was a bit dock and fresh yesterday. they replaced the fish, but the second batch. was the same and could not be eaten. I can only say that if it was bought yesterday, someone would have left it out of the refrigerator overnight! I've never tasted anything like that! the manager said they would not charge for the fish, but £25 for three portions of chips, two curry sauce, and three drinks also a bad taste in my mouth. they only take cash on the way I think that is so that they don't cancel any transactions on the way home! the young man waiting on the table was very nice and polite (and very apologetic). he deserves better! I read reviews on travel advisors in future - also for a chip shop before I go in.
Really rubbish fish! It was 50% tough batter the fish was a very odd colour. Our kids are good eaters claimed it was disgusting. £9 per portion…… I really wouldn’t bother!
Fish and chips were acceptable but the diet cokes were dated best before 31/01/22 . I suppose I should have noticed they were old stock by the fact that the plastic was going yellow around the tops but still. Service was functional.
Took my dad and his partner in on a Sunday tea time. Bad mistake it was not good!! If I had read reviews here first I would not have come in. It was staffed with a load of young kids and the floor was swimming...with food that literally just wanted sweeping up. Service was terrible, no sauces offered, no knives and forks. It was £9 for a fish and chips and £6.50 for sausage and chips. Rubbish dried up tasted bad. Complained and the young kid just said oh, sorry and took my cash for 2 fish and chips and a sausage and chips. I would definitely avoid this place in future.
Extremely unorganised restaurant, we went with 2 young children we waited an hour for food people that had ordered a long time after us received theirs before us. We then asked for more tea to drink with the food and said we wouldn’t be paying...for it and the very young waitress almost threw it at us splashing my 6 year old with boiling water! It’s a shame as the food was nice when it came! I appreciate it was busy but it was shocking wouldn’t recommend and will not be visiting again
