This is the best breakfast I have had to date in WA....so unexpectedly delicious. Fresh, fresh produce, beautiful flavours & presentation...the coffee didn't match the standard of the food - but the bar is pretty high! Great service too, friendly, casual & relaxed atmosphere. I will be back...often! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Surfing Lizard Cafe:
Ordered the avo smash and paid extra for two poached eggs. Pic looks delicious, however the avocado tasted really bitter and had lots of hard bits throughout - wasn't very nice. I am never one to leave food but couldn't eat it. I think if I was mashing an avocado up I would notice that bits of it were solid so not sure why it was served like this. My friends meal was the same. Disappointed it has great potential and... View all feedback.
Great food, reasonably priced, seating area is a little grubby. Coffees were very good. We had breakfast and I like that you can change it up a bit, a choice of bacon or crispy bacon etc. They have a new system in for payment where you choose from the computerised menu and pay on the allocated eftpos machine in a room near the kitchen. Not a fan of this (probably aimed for busier periods) but you can chose to pay cash and order to a person. If I lived nearby I would probably use this place a lot.
Went to Surfing Lizard yesterday for lunch. I was a bit taken aback by the prices, but maybe this explains why they never got back to my message requests for a look at their menu? The pho was good and applaud the homemade broth but it was lacking in the herbs and fresh veggies I expect from a pho – and at $25 it was a lot more that I regularly pay in a sit down restaurant. We ordered via the QR code on the table and items came out one at a time – fine but despite being busy, no one offered us cutlery and we had to go and hunt for it – it was on a trolley near the entrance but there were no spoons and soup is pretty challenging without a spoon! There were no napkins to be found anywhere – and in the 3 hours I was on site NOT ONCE were any tables cleaned after being cleared – that’s pretty gross. We also asked for water and were told its self service at these prices I expect some level of service. Disappointing.
I went to this restaurant for breakfast and found the food to be delicious but quite pricey. They charge $28.50 for a large breakfast but do not allow substitutions for items of the same price. This policy was not clearly stated on the menu. Additionally, they charge $5.50 for a regular coffee. The staff members were friendly, but unfortunately the QR code on the table was not working, so we had to wait in line to place our order. If the restaurant is busy, this could result in a long wait time.
I was excited to try this restaurant after seeing all the posts on Facebook, but I was really let down. Firstly, the prices were extremely high. I ordered the big breakfast for $28, but if I wanted hash browns it was an extra $5.50, beans were $4.50, and so on, which quickly added up to close to $40 for a breakfast. The bacon was too salty and greasy, and there was no butter on the toast. The only good part was the perfectly poached eggs. My wife ordered the grandma's fried rice with pork belly, which was a large portion but the pork belly was dry and tough, like chewing on a rope. The drinks, such as smoothies and bubble teas, were also overpriced. Overall, we were very disappointed and won't be returning.
The homemade food at this restaurant is amazing! I absolutely love it. The staff members are very friendly and make you feel welcome every time. Thank you for your hard work and for serving such delicious food. Silk Silk is definitely a must-visit.
