It was probably a great place in its day. Food was mediocre, at best. Steak was way overcooked. Check out other options.

The TCP has the best chili in town without question. The standard is made with chunks of brisket. Old-school Austin place with down home people running it. I like to get a small bowl of the veggie chili and a taster of the habanero and then mix them together. Absolutely money. Perfect amount of heat. There is a full bar as well. Parking can be challenging at peak times, so either come early or late and park on the street, or walk or Uber at peak hours.

Everything was wonderful! The food, the staff, the casual vibe.

Our waitress Brooke was great. The chili was really tasty we tried the Chili Sampler with venison, mild w/no beans, and white chili. The habenero chili satisfied the heat and spice person, the steak and enchilada combo was outstanding, probably the best version we've ever had for that combo. The sour cream chicken enchiladas were the special and for $7.75, you get more than your money's worth, we couldn't finish the beans and rice!! The atmosphere was a cool neighborhood bar vibe, very laid back and enjoyable. Good thing we are only visiting, we'd be visiting at least once a week!
