Beautiful atmosphere, definitely a place you’d want to dress up a little bit for. Dimly lit fine dining with a coastal theme. The food was exceptionally well done. Very eclectic ideas that only a chef would come up with. Lots of daily specials, as well deserts. The Fuji apples on my scallops were awesome! Service was also top notch. Would definitely recommend the place for a good first impression on a date! View all feedback.
What Jessica Betschart doesn't like about Monger’s Market Kitchen In Aust:
We had a really bad time at Mongers and we're not planning to go back. There is a waitress, She was all snooty, explaining the menu like she was looking down on us. Totally felt judged. And get this, she didn't write down our order, then forgot one of our dishes. When we pointed it out, she blamed us instead of admitting she didn't jot it down. Oh, and when we asked for the check, she actually shushed us. Can you bel... View all feedback.
I've only been here twice. Visits that were very spread apart as well. Think 7 years or so. Each visit was amazing. The 2cd visit I had the fish and chips and a dozen oysters. East coast from a few different locations. They're a fish market, so you would hope they have great seafood and they do! Oysters are just perfect and the fish and chips is light, crispy, and not greasy. Unlike bd rileys fish n chips which are soaked in a bed of grease and feels like you ate a bowling ball
Birthday dinner with my husband and it was amazing. I had the lobster roll and he had the grouper special. Both were incredible. Our server suggested the dark chocolate caramel miso sauce dessert with a basil garnish and it's a must-try. Perfect Birthday Celebration and will return as often as we can.
First time to this location. New place same great food!
Great spot for lunch. We got there as soon as it opened so seating was not an issue. Ordered the burrata as an appetizer. Light and a great start. Just enough for 3 ppl to taste. Ordered a classic poke bowl, I believe it was tuna that day. 9/10 for me. No pictured were the fish tacos, 10/10 on those.
I must admit that we're pretty partial to Monger's. But as an educated diner, there is no better location for fresh seafood in the Austin area. Other than Este, of course. Different styles, but both are phenomenal!
