Had supper here with a group. I had the striploin with peppercorn sauce...very tasty, steak done nicely although would have preferred a thicker cut. Others in my party enjoyed the ribs and Hunter Chicken. A nice atmosphere and tasty, quality food at a price that surprised me...I was expecting to have to pay more. Only downside was pretty slow service, not the friendliest...not rude...but not very welcoming. Would not... View all feedback.
What MomDtr doesn't like about Pinewood Restaurant:
I have previously stayed at this restaurant for business and enjoyed the lunches and dinners. However, I cannot say the same for this visit. The gnocchi was large and rubbery, definitely not homemade, although the sauce was good. The Cobb salad was just okay and the soup was not tasty. Other diners also expressed their disappointment with their meals. I'm not sure if there was a different chef last week, but I am not... View all feedback.
We needed a private space for a small family reunion (14 people . We had difficulty finding a restaurant with private space so were happy to find this. Food was excellent; prices were reasonable. The server was superb and very attentive to our needs. (She even took photos for us.
Under new management, the food at the Pinewood Restaurant is excellent and the value is high. Their soups are homemade and delicious, we had the asparagus soup and it was fantastic. Beautiful texture with perfect bites of asparagus. A cheesecake type dessert was also delightful, perfect texture and taste. The next morning we had an omelette and eggs benedict, both beautifully prepared and tasty. The service was fantastic, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend this restaurant for locals and visitors alike delicious food at a good price.
Had dinner as part of a weekend package. Quick service, restaurant very clean. Background music would be a nice touch. We opted to share a spinach dip did not care for the bread at all and dip wasn't one of the best we have had. We both had the pork chop. Chef claims it doesn't come with mushrooms but the menu disagrees. The meat, vegetables and potatoes were great. Had creme Brule for dessert. Menu says it is pumpkin spiced custard not what I was served and the top sugar was not caramelized at all which made it excessively sweet. Price was very good considering what we ordered. Will be trying breakfast in the morning

Would not necessarily seek out for a night of fine dining, but if I was in the area looking for a good supper, would definitely consider stopping by.
I went to this restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner last night. Half of the dining room lights were off and there weren't many full tables. The dinner was traditional, but with some unique twists. The pumpkin soup was good, but it was odd to have bok choy alongside stuffing, asparagus, and carrots. The stuffing had a different texture than I expected. The turkey seemed more like a turkey loaf than a whole turkey. The service was friendly, but there were only two waitresses. The atmosphere felt more like a cafeteria than a festive Thanksgiving celebration. They could have done more to make it feel special. However, I did enjoy the maple crème brule for dessert.
