Boston Pizza - North Battleford

An awesome BPs! Perfect pit stop on way to S'toon! Always great service and food! And plenty of parking for my monster Iron Steed!

Our hockey team had made plans to stop by today on our way to a Provincial game to have a team meal. They were great at emailing me the team menu and responded quickly to let us know they would be ready for us to arrive. Unfortunately Mother Nature had other plans and it was not safe for us to travel. When I called to cancel the reservation they were really understanding and said not to worry. I travel a lot, hence my reviews all over the place, and for a few reasons, I go to BP quite frequently. I go there because they have one in pretty much every little town in western Canada; I go there because no matter how small the town and how dead the restaurant, they're always open late; I go there because they have good wifi (a must for travellers); and i go there because even if the service food aren't great (and they generally aren't) they're at least decent and ALWAYS consistent. This place, for whatever reason, didn't get the memo. First, wifi there sucks. Only time I ever went to a Boston Pizza and had basically zero wifi. Download a movie? Ha! You might get a podcast if you're lucky. If you live in Battleford, probably you're not looking up BP on Yelp, but if you're passing through or visiting, and you're on Yelp looking for BP for the wifi, not in this town. Not sure how this is the only one with **** wifi, but there you are. Second, the service there is terrible, or at least it was for me, twice. Yup, went back, hoped the wifi would be somehow better (it wasn't). First trip around the block, sat at a table and had a female server, she was just not interested in serving me. Food came cold (like it sat on the line maybe), drinks not refilled, no quality check, nada. Bad experience, all around. So I go back next day, same girl working, thus I sit at the bar. Bartender even worse than she was. Asked me what I wanted when I sat down, when I told him I needed a minute to decide, he left for about 20. Went to the end of the bar, and was all smoochity with the girl who gave me terrible service the night before. After a night of more bad service, a second girl makes an appearance. I chat her up, mention my situation, she apologizes and explains that they're newly dating, they're horrible to work with and unprofessional, but the manager won't do anything because she's afraid they'll quit and they're short staffed already. Then she bought me a nice stiff drink, apologized again, and that's how we go from one star to two. I felt bad for her, but I wish I'd have had her as my server.

This review is simply about the service. It is slow in here tonight I count 4 tables with guests. Ordered nachos, a burger and my wife ordered spaghetti and meatballs. I was told my burger can come with a salad as well. Our meals showed up before our appetizers. My burger only came with a salad. I had to order fries if I wanted them. So here we are with appetizers getting cold and our meals getting cold trying to eat fast so we can enjoy everything hot. It's not working. It's been a year since I was here last. I don't know if I will be back.
