We placed our order, and the woman who assisted us was quite rude. When we received our food, it was handed to us in a cardboard container from their supplier. Upon returning home and opening our meal, I found my steak and mushrooms coated in what I can only describe as some sort of gelatin. The taste was awful, and the steak was soggy. My fried rice was mushy and tasted as if it had been cooked in dirty dishwater. The sweet and sour bun was no better. The shrimp fried rice was particularly disappointing; the shrimp smelled old and poorly stored. I recommend saving your time and driving to Panda Express instead.
However, the food from Happy Family is always served hot, with fresh ingredients and amazing flavor. You also get a generous portion for your money. From now on, I'll stick with Happy Family for takeout. Thank you to the staff and owners for maintaining such high-quality food!
This restaurant is not worth the money. Nearly all Chinese restaurants offer similar dishes and have comparable menus—perhaps they source their food from the same frozen food catalog. However, the flavors never quite match up. For instance, the sesame chicken here was undercooked, and the broth was thick and doughy, making it hard to find the small pieces of chicken. The sauce lacked flavor, resembling brown water rather than a rich, syrupy glaze. The Mai Fun noodles were bland, and everything on the Pu Pu platter was overcooked—too hard and dry to enjoy. I've dined at other Chinese restaurants and ordered the same items without any complaints; the food was well-prepared and flavorful. Unfortunately, this experience at Happy Family fell short and felt overpriced.
I would give this place if I could. I put a delivery order and 4 minutes later I realized that I forgot to ask for a diet soda for my wife so that she called back and they said that my eating was already on the way. that tells me that everything is already cooked because it is impossible to cook all 5 items I ordered in 4 minutes. the fried rice was tasteless and dry, and there was not even egg in it. the sweet and sour huh had sat so long that it was as jerky, not even edible. crab rangoon was so burnt that I had to break the edges and just had to eat the middle. the lo mine was over boiled and muddy and the garnels that was inside was fish as if he was spoiled. the reserve rib was dry and hard to sit for a long time and they didn't even give us a name brand soda with our combo. it was cheap to knock off the brand soda. the only thing that still had a fresh and decent taste was the egg roll. this place is disgusting and I really do not understand where all the good reviews come, I will never order from here again. thanks for stealing my money!
Ordered food. Sat down. waited 25 minutes and three other people came in and picked up new orders. My order had been ready for at least 10 minutes but none ofthe staff called my order out or told me it was ready.I've been coming here for years but ththe last couple times have been bad experiences. Am considering going elsewhere from now on.EDIT...Got home and food was lukewarm. I ordered a small pork lo mein and small egg drop soup and both were large orders. I wondered why it was so expensive when I initially ordered but chalked it up to food costs. Won't be coming back.
