this is a great restaurant for South American cuisine. eating is very authentic and the staff is very friendly. a thing to note, this business is only cash. eating was absolutely incredible and affordable. I ordered a pupusa (damped pancake) costillas de puerco picantes pollo rostizado (2 pieces fried chicken with a unique coating) and fried plantains. all dishes had very unique aromas. the meals had a lot of carbohy... What Brown Beauty doesn't like about El Rincon Chapin:
Stopped in to try the pupusas and they werent bad. I ordered the bean and cheese and the jalapeno and cheese pupusas. The jalapeno and cheese pupusas were my fav. The slaw was just okay; I have had it before at another place but it was more pickled and had a little spice to it but this was bland for me. The sauces that came with them were delish. The dining area was clean but the floors could use a good mopping. Check... View all feedback.
This place is a semi-hidden Norman gem. It's so nice to have a restaurant in town offering pupusas, and their chili relleno is excellent. Cash only, so make sure you're prepared!
This place is the best bang for the buck we 've found in Norman. I 'd give them 6 out of 5 stars if possible. The quantity of food you get is fantastic, and the quality/taste likewise. We eat here weekly, burrito probably weighs 3lb, $6... I feel like a tick after! Very nice staff, small seating area.
When I went to the restaurant and it was like I was in guatemala! they had a filiale before the entrance and the kitchen/restaurant on the side. I ordered the crazy pupusas. this court is bigger and has a mix of everything. three ladies worked in the kitchen and make everything fresh and their specifications. I also made a pineapple juice home. the food was excellent and came to my table piping hot. two by the side came with the plate and both were different, but full of richer aromen. sauces were hot and hot, just as I like it. I will definitely be back for more as this place is the real deal with authentic Guatemala food.
My wife and I stopped a quick lunch and were not disappointed. it took a while to get the food, but it was all freshly cooked. we had asada tacos, pupusa and plantains. all were great! We're coming back.
Yummy home style Guatemalan eats, delicious!! Great little market and everyone is friendly. You don’t have to spend what we did but we wanted a few goodies
