I expected good and I got better. This was lunch, business people with an hour or so. Rappahannock soup was quite good however, I think there was salmon in it. The pumpkin soup was tasty however a little too salty. My Carnegie (Reuben Sand) was very good also very reasonable with a salad or soup called half-and-half. The Caesar salad was nice looking and fresh the caprice sand had a fat piece of cheese on it also loo... View all feedback.
What Margaret Miller doesn't like about Vintage Kitchen:
The positive: the truffle mac, potato app, and cheese plate is great. Chicken and waffles was pretty decent. That said, the service was cringeworthy for a few reasons. Turns out the burgers were *mixed* to order, which is not normal. None of our entrees required more than 15 minutes, from fire to window. For reasons unbeknownst to restaurant owners everywhere, management staff left before closing. There wasn't a sing... View all feedback.
That was not cash, the worst I ever had. my man and I wanted to have a date night and I came earlier than he did. No personal there when we arrived on Friday. empty dining room. good. it becomes much worst. I was literally escorted for complaining about a badly made martini shaken by what looked like a 16 year old with a bad tude that the owners have sworn it. on our evenings there is no change to our pre-dinner orders. we are creatures of habit. I get a james bond style gin martini, he makes a expensive 2 finger scotch neat. we will find a nice wein dependent on what we want to eat. I got there and a girl that's more.
Eat is delicious, although we eat light. recommend the pumpkin soup pick, sweet and hearty.
Had the chance to taste the many menu items last night with a big party of ten. Five pairs. we had reservations, arriving on time, were sitting immediately, waitress was quick on the table to explain the specials and substitution for the evening and to take our drinks orders. in short order returned w/ liberties went to our orders. the first cure was delivered in time and was quite delicious! as soon as the empty plates have been removed, we have anticipated with tension, our main menu choices. almost 1 hour later, after numerous waterglass refills, no new requests for beverage refills or bread offers, we have waited, and wait, and wait, and wait. when we finally got our food,...read more
Not worth it. eating was good, not great. there is another review about the desert amazing and that much is true. the service was so slow that it becomes a running sweat at our table. While the waitress was very polite, there was not enough traffic through the restaurant so that she took as long as she did. waiting between the curses felt like forever and we waited at least 30 minutes after all the plates were cleaned on our sack. also my bark was over boiled, which is a cardinal sin for me. I would have sent it back, but I am not convinced that it would have come before the end of the time.
Good restaurant. Amazing view. Our first visit to the restaurant was for Norfolk's Restaurant Week. From the limited menu we chose the pumpkin soup and Caesar salad for first courses. The pumpkin soup is amazing, with just enough sweetness brought on by the cinnamon croutons. The Caesar salad was just a Caesar salad Main courses consisted of the steak rounds and flounder. The steak was good, but the flounder was amazing, served with a lemony, wine sauce. Yum Desserts were also excellent. Vintage Kitchen serves a double drunk bread pudding that is some of the best I've ever eaten. And the chocolate parfait was also heavenly.
