Plaza del Sol is under new management, and the new owner makes some of the best food I have ever had. A new menu is in the works to be released soon, and the birria that I personally had was amazing. Perfectly cooked and you can tell that a lot of time, love, and care was put in to making the best birria that could be made. The new owner is very proud of what he does and it shows. What Andrew Braley doesn't like about Plaza Del Sol:
I waited 27 mins for a to go order. Ordered a combo with two chicken quesadillas comes with rice and beans. Also added a side of rice and a side of beans. Received my bag and noticed it was light. Was missing my combo?s rice and beans sides. The clearly rushing server informed me they combined my combos sides with my separately ordered al la carte sides. I?m like that doesn?t make sense. They hosted my amazing birthday party. They're incredible and accommodating, and the food was delicious and hot despite me having a large party (17 people). If you want great service, personable staff, and well-priced delicious food, this is where it's at. I hope I don't spell your name wrong, but special thanks to Ralph. You made the party amazing, but the drinks you made were even better. I'm so glad I got to share my 22nd birthday dinner with you.
Plaza del Sol is the best and most friendly Mexican restaurant in Norfolk. Try the carnitas, the chili colorado and/or verde. I can't say enough about the staff and family that run the place. True good citizens of Norfolk, and a joyous part of the community.
Excellent restaurant. I belong to a Wednesday night dinner group that goes there up to 3 nights a month. Great food, reasonable prices. Friendly staff. (y)
