We had a delightful Mother's Day meal at this restaurant. The ambiance is charming and in an old style, which is a unique find for a downtown ice cream shop. The portions were generous without being too large- the complimentary bread, cheese course, main course (deer), and dessert were all just the right amount of food. What User doesn't like about Monastery:
We decided to try The Palest based on reviews and my European background at 6 o'clock and were seated immediately. Unfortunately, the service was very slow and our server was not very competent. The food was just average and the portions were small. We ordered the chicken cordon bleu and the Serbian goulash. Excellent Czech restaurant- Duck is over the top. All the goulashes and schnitzels are amazing. Very comfortable dining room- just don't be in a rush. The owners pour their hearts into everything and it shows.
This was our second visit, and it was just as wonderful as our first. The food is delicious. On our first visit, i had the steak , which was oh so good. I had the salmon on the second visit, which was very good. The homemade bread and cheese is a plus. This has become one of our favorite places to eat. Service was excellent!
This is a hidden gem in Norfolk. The food and service is excellent! I will definitely go back when we are here again in January.
My wife and I love coming here. Delicious food doesn't touch how good this place is. And the owners are about as kind, friendly, and hospital as you can get. They make you feel like family. We just love it
