I absolutely love Jesse's place! Sam always keeps us satisfied and full whenever we visit. Jesse offers great deals and the food is homemade, with the cook visible working hard. We've never had any issues before at this restaurant, but our experience this time was terrible. We ordered $60 worth of food that was all bland and unseasoned. The seafood dish I ordered had a strange taste and the broth was also unseasoned. My husband's double cheeseburger was simply thrown on the grill and cooked, leaving him dissatisfied. We ended up boxing it up to give to our dogs. The only positive aspect was the customer service - our server was very friendly and despite being the only one working, she remained attentive and accommodating.
The food was delicious! I ordered the Caribbean dish with cranberry juice, and my partner had the two eggs, ham, and hash brown potatoes. Everything was tasty and the total came to $22.95.
I ordered two breakfast plates to go. I requested that the waitress ask the chef to pack my grits and apples separately from my sausage, cheese, and eggs. The waitress returned to inform me that everything had already been placed in the takeout container and should be fine. Although I was disappointed, I did not argue and accepted it. However, upon arriving home, I found that the sausage was burnt, the cheese and eggs lacked flavor, the grits were watered down, and the toast was burnt. The apples were also not up to par.
The food was served cold and lacked any flavor. I don't understand why they would mix the grits with the other food in the same container. The biscuits tasted as though they were soggy from sitting in gravy. The potatoes were burnt on the outside and undercooked on the inside. I will definitely not be ordering from this restaurant again.
