Try the medium roast pork. When I was a young man, my dad used to take me to this place and order me the roast pork sandwich. At the time I didn't care for the veggies and the weird spices that came on the big, hard -to-eat sandwich with crusty bread. Now when I go back I enjoy the roast pork (the medium size). The veggies are fresh, the pork is tender, and George uses some kind of allspice or nutmeg on the sandwich t... View all feedback.
What Julie Mueller doesn't like about French Bakery & Delicatessen:
I went in there with my toddler and baby looking for a French Bakery where they, you know, baked stuff. I was very disappointed. But I saw they had eclair and got a medium sized one, a ginger cookie for my toddler, and a bottle of water. My bill came out ton$15!! Then he tried to pressure me into buying more with to make the bill twenty so I could use my card. This was after he asked if we lived in Ghent. It seems he... View all feedback.
We paid $28 for 3 pastries!!! They were good but not $28 good. The place is kind of a hole in the wall and the owner said its been there for 100 years. He did give us a pomegranate...just because.

This is a unique experience in the city. You won't get a sandwich like this anywhere else. Once, a friend and I went in for lunch and the old lady back there invited us to see the original oven where the bread and...read more
Shame on You!......and Me!. My wife and I lived around the corner from the bakery when we first started living together 20 years ago. We went to bakery one Sunday after a bike ride and had 2 cups of coffee and 2 orange doughnuts. The bill came to $12 and I had to go up to our apartment for more money. Fast forward to this Saturday. My wife and I no longer live in Riverview but recently she began working there. We had occasion to have lunch and I offered to go over to the bakery and grab a few doughnuts for dessert. Each was a $1.99! I added a ginger cookie $1.50 and a $10.00 vanilla custard for a grand total of $17.00 with tax! The food wasn't that good, certainly not $17 good. Stay...read more
