Do not sleep on this diner. I couldn?t even get pictures of food before we were halfway through it. The hashbrowns are actually seasoned. The French toast is super tasty and has a light, tasty crust on it. My husband got a rueben sandwich and said it wasthe best he?s ever had. The fresh lemonade was a bit sweet for my taste but still good. My one gripe was that food was a bitslow to come out but not excessively slow.
Food was amazing. Reasonable priced, $16.60 but when yhe check returned had another .66 for cash adjustment (I paid with card). Meal was just over $17.00. Sat at the bar and service was horrible. Had to flag down my waitress every single time I neededsomething. Empty coffee cup 2 times, no sugar when I did get coffee, and no condiments with meal. In the 30-45 minutes I wasthere she checked on me once (gave me check). Would return for the food but not for the service. Could be I got the one thatdidn't care to be there. Spoke very limited English it seemed.
This diner is conveniently located across Main St from our hotel. My wife and I split the Double Yolker. It's a generous portion of crispy hash browns mixed with chopped bacon and sausage, then topped with 2 sunny side up eggs. You'll need to season it toyour liking. Some Texas Pete helps tremendously. We also had a helping of their house made corned beef hash. Good service. Theywere busy. We were in and out in 30 minutes.
I'm giving it a two star rating due to the service and time spent from start to finish!! After we checked out of the hotel we put our name on the waiting list (10:35 a.m. . At 10:57, we received the call to come in and be seated. Our server seated us andtook our drink order. We then ordered our food at 11:05. We sat there and watched other people come in after us and be seatedand get their food for over 45 minutes. We asked our server on three occasions what was going on. After checking, she said ourorder was being made now due to a mix-up. We waited an additional 15 minutes, we didn't get our food so we called for themanager or owner who never came. The food finally came at 12:03 p.m. and a representative came over to apologize for the errorsmade. Overall, the food was hot and delicious and we were compensated for time lost...however, no one should wait that longafter entering an establishment to receive service. I would love to come back again to eat there but the staff MUST do a betterjob tracking orders and looking out for their customers. From the waiting list until we left, we spent two hours at therestaurant.
The service was good.I couldn't believe the small Lemonade they gave me was the size of a shot gun.I was really disappointed I was really dissapointed. My scrambled eggs looked like an omelet instead of scrambled eggs. The turkey sausage patties my dry and tuff.I will not be returning to eat there again.
