Great Diner. I love most everything on their menu but the mediterranean chicken salad is one of my favorites. The food here actually has some taste and the selection is big. The prices are in line with lunchtime...I'm a regular so unless something drastic happens I'll go back each week. View all feedback.
What Rhonda Turner doesn't like about Brickhouse Diner:
I'm not sure if they have a new chef or what the deal is but the food has been disappointing lately, to say the least. I ordered Beef Vegetable Soup but it didn't have any beef in it. I still gave them the benefit of the doubt and ordered a Fish Filet sandwich w/pasta salad a couple weeks later. The fish was dry from being frozen. I asked for hot sauce, they gave me buffalo sauce and I only got TWO spoonfuls of pasta... View all feedback.
Decent food and prices.. Not bad, but a little on the slow side. I ended up downtown early on Tuesday morning when I gave a friend a ride to the courthouse. The appointment took them less than 30 minutes so we decided to walk across the street and grab some breakfast.<br/ <br/ It was about 9:30am when we arrived and the place had pretty much cleared out. There were only couple of tables and the server said we could seat ourselves. Once seated she immediately came by with menus and took our drink order.<br/ <br/ I settled on an item called the Brick House Combo which was essentially a breakfast skillet. It came with two eggs any way you want them, two strips of bacon, two sausages (link or patty) and ham with toast or a biscuit. My friend had an order of pancakes with a side of sausage patties.<br/ <br/ While initially fast with the ordering and drinks from there it got slow, very slow. There was apparently a shift change going on because the server who seated us and took the order disappeared and eventually she was replaced by another one who refilled our drinks. Our food finally arrived and it was excellent and both of us were happy with our meals. Cost ran about $20 before tip which isn't bad at all for downtown Norfolk.
One of my favorites in downtown. Brickhouse is SO much better than the restaurant that it replaced (Mom's Kitchen bleh! . The wait staff are so courteous and attentive, the food is really good. I've never had a bad meal there. They also have delicious desserts too! I love their Greek salad and buffalo chicken wrap. They have different specials every day to mix things up!

Great service and fair price. Quick service and great value. This is a welcome new addition to the downtown area.
The staff and food were excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.
