The chicken and rice plate? It was a wonderful harmony of flavors! Tender, juicy chicken served on a fluffy rice bed, all coated in a rich, delicious sauce. It was the epitome of comfort food—a delightful surprise among all the furniture displays. As for cleanliness and organization, Ikea Norfolk deserves high praise. Everything was immaculately kept, and navigating the maze-like showroom was surprisingly seamless. However, my enthusiasm stumbled when I started looking for specific furniture items. The dreaded “backordered” label was lurking around every corner, dampening my hopes for immediate home upgrades. It seems this is a recurring issue at this Ikea, creating a frustrating gap between desire and reality. In the end, Ikea Norfolk is a bit of a mixed bag. The food court, despite the less-than-cheerful server, is a lovely oasis of flavor. The clean and organized space makes shopping easy—when the items you want are actually in stock. Unfortunately, the frequent backorders leave a slightly sour note in the shopping experience. Overall, Ikea Norfolk offers a decent taste of Swedish culture, but the inventory challenges can be a letdown. It’s still worth a visit; just be prepared for the possibility of leaving without your desired items—unless you’re hungry for some truly excellent chicken and rice, in which case, go ahead and enjoy! I hope this review helps fellow Ikea adventurers navigate the highs and lows of the furniture haven in Norfolk!

Waited over 30 minutes for a pickup order. My order was so small it was able to fit through the driver seat (59 in Christmas tree and two tiny boxes of star lights). Was definitely a bummer having to wait so long especially when I signed up for a time slot online for that particular time. Hopefully next time is better!

I’m primarily disappointed in the cleanliness of the self serve areas of the restaurant. At 12 Noon on Monday, the beverage area and the milk half and half dispenser were filthy. There were napkins and paper goods that had fallen behind the silverware dispensers and littering the floor. Isn’t anybody cleaning and tidying up? It was disgusting! I can’t imagine it is already so messy after only two hours on a Monday when the store is quiet. This area should be spotless at store opening time. And it seems every time I try to eat here, half of the food is unavailable. 5 minute wait for salmon. 10 minute wait for plant meatballs. Completely out of today’s vegetables already at Noon, so had to settle for corn succotash.More than once have I visited at 10:30 11:00 am on Saturday and breakfast was no longer being served.I don’t know if these problems are only happening here at the Norfolk store, or are chainwide, but they need to be addressed.

IKEA used to be the pinnacle of affordable, quality, and stylish furniture store. While this place does look big, it is misleading. The furniture is a little overpriced and the quality that you would expect the that price is lacking. However, it still is stylish and does pique the interest when looking for new ideas for decorating. Worth checking out if you're in need for inspiration, but shop elsewhere for the quality and price. The US stores are cheap, but the European ones are in a whole other ballgame. The food here was completely overpriced and lacking. Nothing like their European cousins where it would be the hangout spot for the locals. The salmon entree was okay, yet the salmon wasn't the bet part of the dish the potato cake was. The crusted cod was disappointing. However, the strong coffee and good (albeit) pricey chocolate cake made the meal better.

It's IKEA what else can you really say? Good value for the furniture. Just be aware if you try to take the furniture apart to move and put back together it will not be the same. We have a bed, table, and desk that are super unstable just for this reason. Lots of good stuff though.
