Contribute FeedbackHalo, located near the airport and Marriot hotel, offers a mixed dining experience. While some diners praise the friendly staff, good variety, and perfect eggs Benedict, others were disappointed by greasy appetizers and subpar service. The restaurant is known for its vibrant ambience, a perfect stop before catching a flight. Despite some inconsistencies, Halo offers a relaxing atmosphere and decent food options, making it a hit with some customers but a miss with others. Patrons recommend trying out the chicken wings and ensure a visit to the bar by 5:00 for appetizer specials.
At dinner here twice. The vegetarian spring rolls are my favorite, wine list is spectacular. Cannot wait to eat dinner here again in the fall.
We ate two dinners and a breakfast here. The meal selections are varied and the staff willing offer substitutions if you wish. The selections include local foods and produce prepared in some very original receipts. The food was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. Our waitress, Lindsey was fun, engaging and professional. Come hungry as the portions are generous.
I wasn't sure if there was anything for vegetarians but was told there was soup of the day (lentil on this day) and spinach/mushroom panini. Both were sensational! The restaurant was a bit hard to find from the airport itself but I'm glad I persevered, just go upstairs to the departure level and then through the doors to the Renaissance Hotel. The restaurant atmosphere is great as well with a huge TV screen.
Hotel breakfasts, particularly airport hotel breakfasts, often have the reputation of being small and expensive. Not at Halo. The three adult meals and one child meal we ordered were all good -sized and appropriately priced for what we got. We received plenty of fresh tasty fruit, fluffy pancakes and potatoes that were seasoned just right. We almost chose to grab something at Starbucks but were very happy that we instead checked out Halo. The service matched the high quality of the food and was quite friendly and quick. Attractively designed, Halo proved to be a relaxing way to start off our day.
I am a bourbon fan, and was pleasantly surprised at the good selection. I noticed they also had good selections of other spirits. This is unusual for a Canadian facility. The food was very good, but expensive. The environment is a bit cold, but there is a cozy library were service is available. The staff is very attentive.
