Was Eldred Wolf at Sue Chef a mag?
I love the decor in this restaurant - it screams northern Ontario! Hockey and fish! The ice cream tastes like Merla Mae in Thunder Bay. The servings are big and fair priced. You can get half or full order of many items, which is awesome because the servings are so big. The food is delicious too - the onion rings are amazing. If you like Indian food ask for the special menu. The chick pea currie is awesome! Worth the... View all feedback.

What Steve Tremblay dislikes about Sue Chef:
The staff was friendly, but the Butter Chicken was disappointing. It consisted of thick-cut, slightly blanched onions and chunks of chicken in a non-creamy, clear sauce. The burgers, on the other hand, looked appetizing. View all feedback.

A good place to take the family as they serve half meals and have soft ice cream. They also serve real India food, If you are a senior, don't worry, you get plenty in a half meal. The salads are huge and with added chicken or shrimp a split meal would be enough for most. We recommend the Greek Salad!

Ate here a couple years ago and it was OK. Different name I think. Stopped in a week ago with my wife and kids. Had the best loaded clubhouse I've ever had with home cut fries. Son had the Sue Chef Burger (huge. The burger had Onion Rings on top of it. Place has a small Indian menu. Wife had Beef Vindaloo and daughter had Chili Chicken. Wow. You don't see portion like this North of the Border. Must Stop. We could not eat it all.

My visit to NW Ontario is never complete without a trip to the Nipigon Regional Hospital with a different teen hurting themselves each summer. After a few bandages, they are usually hungry. Today we chose to go to the Sue Chef, she is a small restaurant beside the Petro Pass where the transport Trucks fill up. Her sign “Sue Chef” is quite small, and you would miss it if you were going too fast. So don’t go to fast down the 11/17! The pictures on Trip Advisor, is what it exactly looks like inside. It’s a nice restaurant to come sit down too.You need to know they have two menus. A Canadian menu, with a kid’s menu section and an Indian menu! I was told they didn’t give you the Indian menu unless people asked for it. My daughter opted for the chicken strips and fries. I’m personally tired of Hamburgers so I thought I would try the Indian menu. I ordered the butter chicken with white rice and thick Nan. The Nan was not house made, but it was nice and warm. The butter chicken was nice and came with large chunks of chicken and onions. I asked for the butter chicken to come separate from the rice. My daughter’s chicken strips were actual strips not fake chicken nuggets. The young ladies working there were polite and swift. I am looking forward to coming back to try some of the other Indian delights on the menu. As we were about to leave we saw the sign for ice cream, dipped cones, Sundays, milkshakes and slices of ice cream cake but we were too full. So if you are tired of driving, go slow, watch the sign for Sue Chef and come and give her food a try. Eat local and support a small business.

The service was exceptional! Although the restaurant appears small from the outside, it is surprisingly spacious inside. There are plenty of tables, and the staff is friendly and very accommodating. There's also beautiful wooden artwork displayed across the street. The food was delicious; my husband enjoyed his steak, cooked perfectly rare to his preference. The wonton soup was also delightful, with a unique twist compared to what I've had before.

We stopped at this restaurant for a take-out lunch during our road trip to Thunder Bay in the summer of 2020. I kept meaning to write a review when I got home, but I forgot until now, just before another long road trip. For its location, this restaurant was quite good. They served generous portions, and the owner was very friendly. After several days of backcountry camping between Michipicoten and Thunder Bay, their food really satisfied our cravings for Chinese cuisine.
