Ducky’s Diner - Nipigon
Ducky’s Diner
Description
Nestled roadside, this locally owned spot offers generous, homey plates—standout fried chicken sandwiches and homemade burgers—served by friendly, accommodating staff who handle dietary needs (gluten-free, vegetarian, lactose). Portions are hearty and prices reasonable, making it a solid stop for travelers and families. Occasional issues include missing items, long waits, uneven fry/poutine quality, and restroom cleanliness. Overall, a warm, unpretentious destination with tasty food and room for operational polish.

The staff is nice and friendly. Toilets could be much cleaner. We ordered the chicken club sandwich which was decent, the sweet potato fries that came with were unfortunately overdone and very dry. We got them changed to regular fries which were a bit oily but tasted decent. Later found out that we were charged for both, lol It was an okok experience but can't complain when you don't have many options. Service: Dine in
Ducky's Diner is located in Nipigon. It is, what I refer to as, a hometown greasy spoon diner, which in truth, is my favorite choice for great food. At Ducky's Diner you will find a Canadian menu of Sandwiches and hamburgers. Real potatoe French fries are served with a great gravy if you choose. The triple decker club has actual ham and chicken on it as well. The burgers are solid beef to fill your belly too. The ambience is a roadside stop with apparent summer time outdoor dining. My visit was late fall into winter so we ate in a booth indoors. There's a TV room for sports fans. I enjoyed the humble hospitality by a young couple of local owners. I give this place a strong 4 for top choice apart from a fine dining experience. 2 thumbs up.
